Natural Matcha Tea is a tea with no plants or additives other than Matcha tea. Tea Matcha, drunk in Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremonies, is obtained from tea tree leaves grown in the shade. This Matcha Tea is prepared from green tea grown and processed in Japan without any additives.
Matcha (Read as Macchaea tea) is left in the shade for 15 days before the tea leaves are collected, the reason for this is to make the plant secrete more chlorophyll. Chlorophyll not only gives the tea its bright green color but also provides a strong taste.
After the tea leaves are collected, they are exposed to steam, dried, and processed through separation of stems, veins and other excesses. As a result of the transaction, "Tencha" is obtained, where only 10% of the first collected product remains. Tencha is then powdered very slowly, usually by hand grinder. It takes about 3 hours to obtain Matcha tea by grinding 100 grams of Tencha. Faster processing creates an unwanted burn taste in tea.
Matcha (Maccha) tea is used directly in many beverages and desserts. These include matcha latte, matcha cafe au lait, matcha milk shake, matcha cake, matcha cookies.
It is known that the best quality Matcha tea is grown and processed in Japan. As Chado Tea, we are selling Matcha teas that have been grown and processed in Japan since 2007 as Matcha and Mathca Koicha in 2 different qualities.
